Worldwide Classroom

Technical Help & FAQs

What is Worldwide Classroom?

Worldwide Classroom is a ministry of Covenant Theological Seminary designed to provide God’s people everywhere with access to biblically-based, grace-centered theological training materials by minimizing the barriers of distance and cost. Our goal is to offer a foundational collection of course materials to anyone, anywhere in the world at no charge. Our hope is that pastors, missionaries, lay leaders, Seminary alumni, educators, and students will draw upon these materials to nurture their walk with the Lord and to enhance their ministry to others. This ministry has been supported through generous grants from the Christian Education Charitable Trust and the Davis Foundation.

What course materials are available?

The courseware offered here represents an assortment of more than 20 classes from Covenant Seminary’s master’s degree programs. A complete list of available courses can be found on the Worldwide Classroom main page, or in the navigation bar on the right side of the individual course pages. Edited transcriptions of course lectures and study guides for each lesson are posted as well.

How may I use Worldwide Classroom course materials?

Course materials offered free of charge through the Worldwide Classroom Web site may be used, copied, distributed, translated, and modified for non-commercial, not-for-profit ministry purposes only. We ask that all materials be appropriately attributed to Covenant Seminary and their authors, as mandated by the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 3.0 Unported License.

What are the technical requirements for Worldwide Classroom materials?

Worldwide Classroom courses are available as MP3-format audio lectures and PDF-format documents. Both formats are widely supported and work well on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms. Although higher-speed Internet connections offer the best experience, slower modem connections will also work to access the course content.

How do I access MP3 files?

MP3 audio files can be downloaded or streamed directly through your Web browser. Many media applications will play this file format. If you do not have Windows Media Player, Real Player, or some other media application already installed on your computer, you can download the free Real Player. (The free player is sufficient -- you do not have to purchase their latest special offer.)

Audio files may be downloaded to your hard drive or other audio device for later listening by right-clicking your mouse on the download link, clicking on the “Save Target As” option, and saving the file to the folder of your choice.

How do I access study guides and lecture transcripts?

Study guides and transcripts of selected lectures are posted in PDF format. If you do not already have one, a free reader application is available for download. Links to PDF documents will open a new browser window. These documents may be printed out or saved to your hard drive for future use.

How do I obtain course credit or interact with teachers?

Worldwide Classroom is a free collection of course materials and does not provide academic credit or student-teacher interaction. Students wishing to earn a degree or certificate may take courses for credit through Covenant Theological Seminary's Distance Education program and should contact the Seminary's Admissions Office for further information.
